- Total of 29 learners (27 female and 2 male)
- The profile included their sex; age; country of origin; first language; length of stay in the UK; religion; and time in education in the home country
- They were also asked to estimate approximately the number of books read a year in any language prior to the course
- The information was then put into charts as learner background information..
